In March 2012, I left my home in Gloucestershire, UK, to cycle around the world. I have no idea how long this will take ...

My favourites:

- Jamie McDonald – Possibly the most inspirational adventurer I’ve met personally.  Average guy turns superhero
- Will Travel Life – Stories around the world from a 2 year backpacker
- Cycling the 6 – A British doctor out to cycle the length of 6 continents. Sceptical?  He’s already 5/6 and 55,000km of the way there

Resources for travellers:

- Travelling Two – Probably the most comprehensive website for bike touring advice
- Tom’s Bike Trip – A lot of advice and inspiration for getting started
- Wikitravel - Information on almost everywhere.  Loads even on terrible internet connections
- Nomadic Samuel – All-round information about travel.  Particularly enjoy the ‘smiles’ section

My traveller friends:

- Cycling 4 Cancer – Cycling for a good cause from the UK to Australia
- Steal Compass Pedal East – Cycling from Belgium eastwards for 2+ years with a healthily cynical mind
- Tieme Hermans – Dutch cycle journalist travelling eastwards since June 2012
- Kaleb’s Blog – Wise man with an intriguing writing style from UK to Mongolia, 2012-2013
- Tourient Express – Rob Gardiner, oft-described as tall and ungainly, takes on the world
- Paddling the Mississippi – Kev Brady rides a canoe solo down the Mississippi for good causes
- That Backpacker – Audrey on backpacking around the world
- Jana and Alex – Riding their bikes to explore the world’s diversity
- Jan’s Cycling Diary – A 10000km ride in South America
- Andrew Edmonston-Low – Cycling the Baja Peninsula, Mexico
- Active Planet Travels – Ronald Robbins shares his experiences backpacking  7 continents
